CHINA-LATIN AMERICA STATUS  from USA Hispanic Press, Washingtong DC

China and Latin America couldn`t be so different from each other, but various recent events may show a contrary situation. The strategic interests of the big  Asian player are immense. China will  happen to be by year 2015 the second biggest investor in the region, over the European Union and still behind the United States.

REGIONAL OVERVIEW by Anuario Inmobiliario (from Deloitte LATCO real estate report)

Latin America ends another year of growth, thus extending one of the longest booms over the last decades: according to preliminary estimates, the region should report a growth of +3.0%/+3.5% and in 2013 it should grow at a slightly faster rate, close to +4.0%.

In this scenario, countries such as Peru, Chile, or Colombia ended 2012 with rates above regional average and even in some cases they reported higher rates than their respective 2003-11 averages. Instead, economies such Argentina and Brazil ended the year with a very poor growth, but are expected to recover by 2013 and a more homogeneous performance is expected in regional terms.
